Occupational Health and Safety drive
Profile Security Services has started working towards achieving UKAS accredited OHSAS 18001 certification. Profile’s Compliance & Training Director, Mick Austen, commented, “This is a logical step in making sure that our existing clients and future clients recognise that we are at the forefront of Health and Safety best practice.”
Setting up a formal Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) will complement Profile’s existing ISO 9001 and ISO14001 Quality Management credentials. OHSAS 18001 looks at a wide variety of areas from Health & Safety training, awareness and competence to emergency response procedures. It sets internationally recognized benchmarks for performance measurement, monitoring and improvement, as well as providing valuable support with planning and risk assessment. Mick Austen added, “Achieving OHSAS 18001 will further reduce the risks of accidents and demonstrate that Profile complies with all the latest legislation.”
