Security Training

Security Training. Getting ready, staying ready.

At Profile, we start as we mean to go on. Every Security Officer’s career begins with a three-part induction.

Part 1 - Induction Training For New Recruits

All new recruits (including those who transferred under TUPE) complete a four-day off-site security induction training course to BS7499 standard, as approved by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). If necessary, arrangements will be put in place to ensure that training does not affect the level of cover. Exact course content will be tailored and agreed with each client. Typically, the course covers the following topics:

Trainees will sit two examinations as part of the four-day course.

Part 2 - Site Specific Training

Once assigned to a contract, Security Officers undergo specific training. Tailored to the needs of the contract and the client’s Assignment Instructions, training covers areas such as:

This training is normally carried out on site, at the end of which Security Officers will be tested. The Operations Manager will ensure that all Security Officers have passed the Site Specific Training Programme.

Part 3 - Continuation Training

A significant percentage of Profile’s Security Management Team have been promoted from within the business. Profile’s ongoing development programme ensures that staff maintain the highest standards and keep abreast of technological advancements, industry best practice and any changes to regulatory or contract requirements. When designing development programmes, input is encouraged from the client by Profile’s Operational Managers. Continuation Training will include:

A personal training file is maintained on all Security Officers and these are available to our clients at any time.
